Seyed Ali Ghazvini

Serving as the President of the Canadian Aid and Relief Foundation, Seyed Ali Ghazvini has been instrumental since its inception. Under his visionary leadership, the organization has witnessed substantial growth, expanding its reach to numerous communities and regions in the United States, the Middle East, and Africa. His commitment has led to the provision of life-changing relief and essential services to thousands of underserved communities.

Shaykh Dr. Usama Al-Atar

Shaykh Dr. Usama Al-Atar holds a Master’s in Education from Niagara University (U.S.) and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Simon Fraser University (Canada), followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Alberta. He has published research in diabetes, cancer, and materials chemistry, with coverage by over 30 news outlets, including Science News, C&N, and the BBC. He recently completed a second Ph.D. in Islamic theology at the University of Exeter (U.K.). Dr. Al-Atar has received several honors, including the Ambassador for Peace Award from the United Peace Federation and a certificate of appreciation from the Premier of Alberta. He currently serves as Principal of AlBaqir Academy, a full-time JK–Grade 12 school in Edmonton, Alberta.

Shaykh Hasanyn Kassamali

Shaykh Hasanyn Kassamali is the founder and religious director of the Academy for Learning Islam. He has a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Alberta and a Masters in Islamic Studies from the University of British Columbia. He has studied hawza program at Islamic seminaries in the Middle East.

Dr. Yassir Haider

Dr. Syed Haider is a senior orthopedic consultant surgeon at Markham-Stouffville Hospital in Toronto. He did his MD from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan. After completing his orthopaedic residency training at Royal London and St Bart’s in London, UK, he completed his orthopaedic fellowship with Intercollegiate Board of Royal Colleges in UK before moving to Canada. He is a visiting professor at several international medical institutions including King Edward Medical University and St George’s University.

Sayed Saleh Diaaldeen

Sayed Saleh is a business entrepreneur and active member of the Muslim community in North America with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Accounting. He successfully ensures all CARF’s finances are 100% transparent, while personally answering any questions or addressing all concerns to ensure CARF’s continued success.
